About me
I’m a reporter, multimedia journalist, and filmmaker.
My work takes me around the world, where I meet extraordinary people and tell their stories. I spent several years living in New York City, reporting from across the US for German television as a freelance correspondent.
Before that, I worked as a presenter for Germany’s public broadcaster WDR and as a reporter for RTL, Europe’s largest private media network.
Over more than ten years in journalism, I’ve seen the power of asking the right questions. They build trust, open doors, and reveal what truly moves people.
In my media training and team workshops, I show people without a journalistic background how effective smart, learning-oriented questions can be, whether on stage, in a podcast, in a meeting, or in a private conversation.
My seminars are interactive, practical, and based on real experience: From thousands of interviews and the deep conviction that connection does not begin with the right answers, but with the right questions.

Stories that move
Johanna tells stories through moving images.
As a reporter, she immerses herself in foreign ways of life and makes them accessible to her audience. Her films tell the stories of people who leave conventional paths, take risks, and often make uncomfortable decisions. Johanna raises the question of why – with genuine interest, an open mind, and a desire to understand what drives people. Her curiosity takes her to places where others have long turned back:
